TCT provided cost estimating and Value Engineering services for a new Land Port of Entry (LPOE) comprised of a multi-building border control facility. The LPOE was designed under GSA’s Design Excellence Program and shall accommodate DHS/ICE and GSA requirements to enhance safety at the Canadian border. The new design made a distinct architectural statement as a first impression to those entering the US. The facility integrated an array of complex screening technologies and security measures and included a new river bridge as it is located along the St John’s River waterfront, adjacent to the International Bridge. It serves as the port of entry between Madawaska, Maine and Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada. The scope also included temporary security diversions, and extensive site work along the riverfront.
