During Super Storm Sandy, flooding affected 10 of the DEP‘s 14 Wastewater Treatment Plants and 42 of its 96 Wastewater pumping stations. Since the storm, there has been a projected increase in flood risk stemming from continued sea level rise due to climate change and more extreme storm surge events. This cause and effect has led the DEP to harden its wastewater infrastructure and reduce the probability of damage, service disruptions, and environmental impacts from surge events.
TCT is providing cost estimating services in support of program and construction management for the project. As part of this contract, TCT is preparing a unit price book for use with the DEP JOC’s contracts. The unit prices are based on NYC union labor rates, NYC material prices and equipment pricing from the Blue Book.
